The stiff difficulty experienced by so many in the formation of a reading habit as well as the establishment of a studious culture is still a major problem in the global world of academics. (2). One thing is to decide to study your books and walk up to a library and get seated. But another thing is to start reading the books. To achieve this, you need a calm and serene state of mind. Be concentrated and determined that you can do it. Avoid physical and mental distractions of any sorts. Switch of your mobile phones of set it to a silent mode. Forget about memories of your friends and keep your eyes steady on your books.
(3). Now, you start reading word to word and page to page. Do not assume any part of your curriculum is irrelevant because shocking questions often comes from such ignored pages.
(4). As you are reading, please be summarizing the essential points on a log book for revision purposes. Write out important terms and keywords as well as their definitions and meanings in brief. It helps a lot in remembering all you have read. A single word can remind you of the contents of a 10-paged educational material that you read some days back.
(5). If you plan to finish reading a particular text book within 20 days, you can improve your reading speed by mapping out a fixed number of pages which you must cover each day otherwise, no sleep or playtime for you. Assuming it is a 40-paged text book and you want to cover it in 20 days, it implies that the minimum number of pages which you must cover in a day is 2 pages.
