Credit rating in India begins from 1988. At present there are four credit rating agencies very popular in rating. They are as follows:
i. Credit Rating Information Service of India Limited (CRISIL)
ii. Investment Information and Credit Rating Agency of India Limited (ICRA)
iii. Credit Analysis and Research Limited (CARE)
