Finally, Nigeria's 3rd largest telecommunication giant, Airtel has bowed to competition and pressure from other mobile network service providers in its sincere efforts to become the most relevant in the mobile broadband market-share. Shortly before now, Airtel just Became the Third-largest Mobile Operator In The World.

Airtel Nigeria, a subsidiary company of the Indian telecommunications company Bharti Airtel has reportedly cut down its subscription plan prices to bring it on par with those of other mobile network providers in Nigeria.

Notably, Airtel’s Blackberry Complete Plan of 3GB Data which previously sold for N1,400 only now goes for just N1,000 for the same 3GB data bundle.

Remarkably too, the company’s Unlimited bundle plan previously priced at N1,500 for 2GB data can now be got at N1,500 for 3GB data.

However, it was reported before now that French telecommunications giant have held discussions with Bharti Airtel to purchase 4 of its subsidiary companies in Africa.

Moreover, the company has action plans to cut down its debts by disposing their subsidiaries in Chad, Burkina Faso, Sierra Leone and Congo Brazzaville as well.

As it stands presently, it appears clearly that Orange is not interested in investing in Nigeria. In Africa as a whole, Bharti Airtel boasts of a total of 17 subsidiaries in countries including Bangladesh, Chad, Burkina Faso, Democratic Republic of Congo, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville, Ghana, Niger, Kenya, Nigeria, Madagascar, Rwanda, Uganda, Seychelles, Tanzania, Zambia and Sierra Leone.
