employee connection, employee of the month, employees only, employee appreciation day, employee self service
So far, I have been able to identify 3 core attitudes and habits that will keep an individual permanently as an employee. There are certain factors you need to understand that militates against your vision and passion for entrepreneurship. These attitudes can keep you at your job for many years leaving you be an under-achiever since you cannot explore your full potentials as your own boss. Even if you have the best and excellent potentials with which to succeed on your own, I have noticed that many people who hold onto these 3 attitudes always remain employees of other people for the rest of their lives.

Do you always think that you are too small to be called a boss or manager? Why should you end up in life on the long-run building the dreams and business of other people while you have nothing on your own? Have you ever thought over these points before?

So here are those 3 attitudes that will tie you down in life to remain an employee of other managers:
(1). That feeling of Fulfillment and Contentment:
Most university graduates who are lucky to land lucrative job positions with Blue chip companies like the Oil and Gas firms always feels so contented and fulfilled. Such an employee always tries as much as he can to become the best employee in the eyes of his boss so as to merit salary increments or job promotion and become the Manager’s favorite and thus, becomes prone to continue this way for the rest of his life. He always feels that his or her age long dreams has finally come true – working in a Big Oil company or bank. However, the truth in the matter remains the fact that no matter how rich and wealthy and wealthy you finally become from your job compensations, you are still another man’s employee actively engaged and devoted in building his dreams and aspirations. Even though working for people is necessary so as to gain the experience and also earn your daily bread but still, what about building your own dreams for your family and next generations if you have the full potentials of doing so? Think about this.
(2). Unwillingness to take the Big Risk of Starting all over again from the scratch:
Honestly, it is only a few people that can muster the courage to leave their employee job positions which they have held for years and which have attracted so much social and financial benefits and incentives to their lives. Almost everyone will deem it unwise to quit a job that pays you $5,000 a month for instance just to start a new business that will have the initial potentials of generating roughly $1,000 per month for instance. That is a very big risk for so many people who have been employees to others for a significant part of their lives. They cannot just imagine themselves letting go of their free company accommodation, salary, half-yearly leaves, quarterly overseas job training courses, corporate birthday celebrations, staff loans, attractive monthly salaries and pay slips, free medical welfare, official cars, feeding allowances, wardrobe allowances among many other employee incentives which they have been enjoying at their work places for so long. Being an entrepreneur takes patience and courage. Rome was not built in a day and so, the returns from your own business may be initially low but with time and persistent hard work, you will build it up. Success never comes on a platter of Gold.
So many people who want to resign from their jobs and start their own businesses are always afraid of what they will encounter outside that comfortably computerized and air-conditioned office where they have been hiding for years. So the fear of the unknown pins them down and back to their job seats and tables anytime they want to make a decision to become entrepreneurs of their own. They take it as an affair which is all about taking instructions from others and earning their periodic salaries and wages as the case may be. But the hidden question still remains whether you would have achieved lots more than your salary can afford if you started a business of your own and became your own boss. Have you ever thought of the worth of your dreams in life before?
(3). Procrastination and the ‘’It's Too Late!’’ Mentality:
A lot of people find it pretty difficult to pursue and achieve their own dreams after thinking about the long productive years they have spent on their jobs so far and also, remembering that their retirement benefits like pensions and Gratuity packages (if any) awaits them as soon as they retire. Thus they always wave over their promising entrepreneurial thoughts and ideas anytime it pops up on their minds. Some will tell you that they are too old to start up their own business because a lot of time have passed with their ages and do not think that they have what it takes to run after their innermost dreams and live out their full potentials in life. And even when they begin to develop a little courage, passion and strength to start implementing a particular business idea that they have conceived, all soon becomes void given the fact that they are not too willing and convinced to leave their normal employee accustomed way of life.
Finally, my words are here to encourage all of you reading this article right now to make out time and think about pursuing and achieving your dreams in life. I have never heard of a famous employee before. World’s notable people like Bill Gates of Microsoft and Steve Jobs of Apple Inc. are and were all entrepreneurs. So as you sit down on your table to resume your employee work today, make out some minutes and discover if you are really doing so at the expense of achieving your own dreams of a brighter future. The fact remains that it is extremely difficult for someone to be a rich and affluent man in life while being an employee. You need to become your own boss so as to make the difference.
