As most of you here already know, the Verve card is a 'Chip+PIN' characterized payment card which helps you to access your fund balance with your Bank and use them for multiple forms of payments including online and real-time transactions. Notably, the Verve cards are powered by the InterSwitch payment Gateway but they are issued to customers and users by their respective commercial banks in Nigeria who have the authority to do so. I will not be quoted wrong anywhere if I say thet the official name for the InterSwitch-powered ATM cards issued by banks to their customers is known as the Verve card.
While some banks issue other similar payment cards like the Visa card and MasterCard, others issue the Verve cards. You can easily identify which of the cards you have been issued by your bank by taking look on the front surface. There, you will see the type of card you are using. While some banks have the capacity of issuing you any of these payment cards, others can only issue you one or a few of them. However, Verve cards comes in different types. It can either be the Verve PrePaid card, the Verve Debit card or the Verve Payday card. It is only the Verve Debit card that you can connect to your Bank's current account or savings account for easy access to your funds while processing your online transactions.
Furthermore, once you have your Verve card with you, you can integrate it with many payment outlets, channels and terminals including Automatic Teller Machines (ATMs), Mobile Phone applications, Point-Of-Sales (POS) terminals, Kiosks, e-commerce websites, online business portals and many other transactionary locations that supports it. Outlets that are compatible with the Verve cards always bear these names or their logos (Verve, InterSwitch, Quickteller, Reward) on their surfaces. So far, I have always used my Verve Debit cards to make a lot of online payments and process transactions with e-commerce portals on the internet. Not only that, I also use it to transfer my funds to my desired beneficiaries using the QuickTeller Application available on the ATM outlets. There are still more to it. I always withdraw my cash, recharge my phone with airtime, subscribe my DSTV, pay my PHCN bills and do so many other things buy using my Verve card at the ATM outlets.
