Last year while I was travelling to Lagos from the northern part of Nigeria inside a commercial shuttle just a few more days to the Muslim Ramadan festival, we passed through a very busy market scene where some traders and livestock farmers making transactions for rams. The buyers were busy buying and the Sellers were also busy selling their rams and making their money.

At that point, the passengers who were travelling with me began to discuss on the expensive and outrageous prices at which rams were offered to buyers in the markets most especially during the ceremonial seasons. This made them to conclude to a suggestion that it is always better to buy rams during the off-festive periods in order to save a lot of costs. Being an entrepreneurial brain and a strong business-minded person at all times, I silently analyzed their points and realized that the scenario was a very good business opportunity into which investors can put their money and get maximum returns in just a matter of 2 or 3 weeks.

Commonly, Muslims all over the world during their festive seasons and celebrations always buy and slaughter rams in large quantities. Most especially, this practice is seen during their Eid-El-Kabir, Eid-El-Malud, Barkar-Da-Salar, Eid-El-Fitri and many other top muslim festivals. But it is more significant during the celebration of the Eid-El-Kabir because it is a global event for all Muslims all over the world which usually comes up immediately after their holy pilgrimage to Mecca and Medina (Hajj). And as such, all of them like to buy rams, slaughter them and share out the meat with their immediate families, extended family relations, friends, acquaintances, the poor and the helpless. In fact, this even seems like a religious obligation for every working class Muslim during such times.

Due to the fact that rams are highly demanded and sought during such festivals, their prices always surge upwards by a very large margin. And it is during such seasons that the sellers of ram sellers make a lot of money from their livestock products depending on the size and weight of the animals. While the bigger and fatter rams can be priced for as costly as N100,000, you can still find the smaller and medium sized rams which are offered by sellers at either N20,000, N30,000, N40,000 or thereabouts. During Islamic festivals and ceremonies, traders and farmers who raise cattle and rams always transport them to many other parts of the country where there are not much sellers of the agricultural commodity. Thus, they take advantage of the scenario, hike up their prices for their rams and make a lot of money and products selling them out to the highers bargainers and bidders.

These transportation costs added to the feeding expenses as well as the festivity aura all contributes immensely to the expensive prices at which rams are sold during Muslim celebrations. As I gathered from some ram traders who sell rams at the Alaba Rago, transporting each ram to Lagos state from Kano state will cost you a sum between the range of N2,000 and N2,500. According to another ram seller that I briefly talked at a local market situated in Kaduna state, a bunch of feeds for rams which originally costs N1,500 during the normal times can be bought for as high as N2,500 during the festive seasons. That is why they consider these costs so much as well as their desired profit margins before fixing their high prices on the rams. Now, I will teach you a secret formula on how to make a lot of money and profits during muslim festive seasons buying and selling rams if only you are interested and willing to do this business.

This is simply how to invest your money profitably in the business ! Buy like 25 rams shortly before the festivals from from places like Kano for as cheap as N20,000 each depending on their weights and sizes with a total of N500,000. Take them to Lagos at an average transport cost of N2, 000 for each of the rams which will make you expend a total sum of N50,000 for the 25 rams as your transportation fees. Also, purchase like 50 bags of ram feed with an estimated sum of N100,000. Map out a further sum of N50,000 for your miscellaneous expenses and in a grand total, your total investment into this business will roundly amount to N700,000. As soon as the season starts, sell off your 25 rams in a matter of one week or even a single day at an average price of N40,000 each to earn a total sales revenue of N1,000,000. Deduct your capital cost which is N700,000 as calculated earlier and you will have a 30% returns on your business investments as your profits in just a few days. That is a very profitable and mega business deal worth venturing into at the appropriate time!

It is a very profitable seasonal business which you can do on a part time basis and still attend to your normal job to make more money for yourself. You do not have to pass through the stress of raising these rams for months and years before selling it to make your money. All you need is just a month of less and your profits will be sure.

To run this business smoothly and lucratively, you must have a target market. Lagos state is a very good place to sell your rams in Nigeria because in such a big city, products are generally costly. So you will sell at high prices to your customers and make a lot of money. Also, find a Ram, goat, sheep, or cattle Traders Association in the area and register yourself duly with them to avoid marketing and pricing conflicts. Each of the states in Nigeria has their own chapter of the Ram Sellers Association. As soon as you join them, you will have the right to sell your cattle and related livestocks within the boundaries of that state.

Furthermore, endeavour to buy you rams a few weeks before the festive seasons sets in at very cheap prices, you may end up buying them at costly rates which will make you very little or no profits and even losses sometimes. Travel to northern states like Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna or Sokoto where you can find many nomadic farmers and herdsmen who keep cattle and rams. You can likewise find many of them in remote locations like Banks in Maiduguri, Maitagari in Jigawa and Darazo in Bauchi and buy rams in abundant quantities and affordable/low prices.

Make sure that you buy healthy rams that are in good health and body conditions. Look after them by yourself or employ somebody to help you out to feed and clean them up. Take them to the market once it is time and dance like a king as soon as you sell them off and make your big profit, easy money, surplus income and maximum returns on your investments.
